At one point in the film Pennywise is sitting on Paul Bunyan’s shoulder holding bunch of his trademark red balloons. This is a subtle nod to the foot condition, bunion, a homonym of Bunyan. By using this sophisticated linguistic slight-of-hand, filmmaker Andy Muschietti reinforces how horrible Pennywise is because It can move around, causing pain in areas other than one’s feets.
Is It the scary clown movie?
Have missed you on WP Aeryk!
Glad to see your likes and comments are working in the Reader again. (They weren’t for a while, there!)

Little update: okay this is so weird. Now, in the reader, the star and comment buttons that were available on this same post before, are no longer visible! I’d say it’s at my end (as WP seems to have told you in the past) but this option doesn’t seem to vacillate for any other blog I follow except yours. There *are* some bloggers whose like and/or comment buttons *consistently* don’t show in the reader — and so I believe it’s because they have turned those options off — but in on blog, it changes from day to day, or week to week. No worries over here, just wanted to let you know, in case you find that responses are not as high some days. Hope you’re well, xo n

p.s. (I had to login through the front end of your site to post that last comment and this one. It’s just quite a few more clicks is all, including filling out your site’s comment form [name, email, site etc] and liking is not possible for me from the front-end of WP sites in Chrome. As previously discussed, that is the case for many readers and it’s some kind of Chrome/WP/extensions glitch. Probably not a big deal for your readers, who simply won’t respond most of the time, but again, might explain things for you, if you find response is low.) xo

Yeah, it’s frustrating because I went to WP about it and from their end everything was working so. . .
Ugh.
Thanks for taking the time to go through all that. I don’t get a lot of comments so that might be the issue. Or it could be my crappy posts. 😜

When I talked with the WP technicians we walked through all the settings (on my end) and they were “correct.” And as far as they could see it was working. I ended up getting the shrugged shoulders. Sigh.

Yes, It is the scary clown movie. If you like that kind of stuff this one is well done. I also enjoyed the original with Tim Curry as Pennywise (the clown).

🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫Neeeeooooope. Not my thing. Meanwhile my husband and the older two are in fact watching something scary-ish right now. I would say it’s a guy thing but I have a couple of girlfriends who also love scary movies.

A friend of mine, female, is a special effects make up artist. She’s worked on several movies. In one she made a full sized body to be sliced in half. She’s LITERALLY a gore queen.

[later…] Aw man, I blew it didn’t I? Husband and sons are always scoffing at my terrible attempts at weaponry sound effects. 🙄😁💃🏼

I haven’t been able to watch It: Chapter Two, but am looking forward to doing so, sometime in the near future. I will be looking forward to this scene and remember this nifty trivia of yours. Hahaha… Bunions, eh? 🙂
