In the closing credits’ stinger, Superman (Geralt of Rivia) tells Black Adam (Hercules), “It’s been a while since anyone’s made the world so nervous. Black Adam, we need to talk.” Most viewers think this is a reference to how the people of Earth 138 were freaking out about Superman (in Man of Steel & Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice). Actually, he’s talking about James Gunn and his new DCEU.
As Lois (Amy Adams) reaches into her bedside table drawer for her press credentials, underneath is a Force Majeure pregnancy test. Zack makes a point to show it twice. Not knowing what force majeure meant I looked it up:
force majeure (French)
1. superior or irresistible force
2. an event or effect that cannot be reasonably anticipated or controlled; act of God
The test refers to the fact that intercourse with Superman is an irresistible force and it took an act of God for her to survive it, much less get pregnant.
When Clark Kent first meets holographic Jor-El, Jor-El calls him Kal. Thrown off, Clark asks, “Kal? That’s my name?” Clark is confused because everywhere in the script he is listed as either Clark Kent or Superman.
Batman asks Superman, “Do you bleed?” This is a subtle nod to the fact that Kryptonian males MENstruate. This line of inquiry is simply Batman trying to get more information on Kryptonian physiology because he is unsure if Superman has gone through “the change.”
Batman did NOT ask Wonder Woman because he didn’t want to get kicked in the pee pee.
